What is Matimba Just Safari?
Matimba Just Safari is an association founded with the aim of bringing together lovers of travel, nature and wildlife. Our mission is to promote the culture of travel to safaris and remote destinations, raise awareness of the conservation of endangered animal species and develop responsible and sustainable tourism.
Our goals are to preserve nature and wildlife, with the promotion of environmentally friendly ways of traveling, educating travelers and the general public about the importance of protecting the environment and endangered species. It also connects people with similar interests through joint travel, events and projects, and encourages members to share their experiences, photos and travelogues, as well as to inspire others to embark on their own journeys.
Matimba is an association registered and governed by a statute that defines our goals, activities and activities. We work through the organization of joint trips, lectures and education, cooperation with travel agencies, organizations and local partners. Matimba is not only a safari, but also a platform for learning, connecting and adventure, where every member can contribute and be part of a wider story of responsible travel and conservation.
Your Safari Ticket
Matimba is your ticket to safari experiences across southern and eastern Africa. We organize guided tours through National Parks and Reserves in countries such as South Africa, Kenya, Botswana, Zambia and Namibia, Uganda and Tanzania. Our mission is to provide you with direct contact with nature, without intermediaries and tourist filters.
We take you to meetings with the Big Five, follow the tracks of lions, elephants and rhinos, learn about animal behavior and everyday life of people living near the reserve. We plan each route carefully, from accommodation and guides to the timing of the day when the chances of seeing animals are highest.

Who is behind Matimba?
The Matimba team is made up of five great lovers of Africa, safari and wildlife. Their knowledge and dedication ensure that every trip is not only exciting, but educational and carefully planned.
Each of us is here to help you throughout the entire journey, from your first morning coffee to your evening gathering by the fire. We love to share knowledge, we love good stories and we always try to make sure that you don’t travel with us as a tourist, but as part of a team.
What does Matimba mean?
“Matimba” in the Tsonga language means strength and power. We chose the name as a sign of respect for the legendary Matimba coalition of lions, six strong males from the Sabi Sand and Manyeleti reserves, whose fascinating story awakened in us a love for the world of safari and laid the foundations for this story of ours.
And today, our travels to Africa are inspired by them. On safaris in South Africa , we follow their descendants, lions who still carry the traces of this great coalition and continue their story. It is a special experience to witness the continuation of a lion dynasty, to see how their strength and legacy are passed down through generations. It is this story that reminds us why safari is not only about seeing animals, but also about following the history and legacy that shape entire savannas.
