February 2024: Our first Matimba tour in Kenya, two jeeps, 15 great people and a bunch of new friendships<\/strong><\/p>\n

When we set off on this tour, we knew it would be special, but honestly, we didn’t expect everyone to be thrilled either. The first Matimba tour with two jeeps, 15 passengers in total, and perhaps most importantly, this was the first safari in almost everyone’s life. It’s the moment when every bit of dust is worth it. <\/p>\n

We spent three nights in the Olkinyei camp, a place that exudes a real African atmosphere, a place where you can hear a lion every night, so you have the feeling that it will run past you at any moment. The campsite is simple, but very comfortable and completely integrated into nature. After that, two nights in the Mara Serena lodge, where we were greeted by a real safari luxury, a panoramic view of the Mara reserve that is literally breathtaking. <\/p>\n

The company was wonderful from the first to the last moment. We clicked with everyone, there was a lot of laughter, stories and socializing. Unfortunately, the rain messed up our accounts for three evenings, just when we planned to sit around the fire and share impressions of that day. But that didn’t spoil the atmosphere, on the contrary, those wet evenings only brought us closer together. <\/p>\n

The local guides were adored by everyone, especially our Pesi, from the Masai tribe. The man is a true emperor, and not only did he know every corner of the park, but he told us so many stories and gave us an insight into his culture that we all felt like we were part of something much bigger. <\/p>\n

A lot of people immediately booked their next Matimba trip after this tour, it’s really a sign that we’ve done something good. And best of all? Many friendships started here, because safaris are not just stories about animals and landscapes, but about the people you share those moments with. <\/p>\n

All in all, this was a safari to remember, a first for many, but certainly not the last.<\/p>\n\n
